Ship & Sleep / Company
The operations company for AI‑built software.
AI made building software cheap. It made operating it more valuable than ever. Ship & Sleep exists for exactly that second half: we adopt applications, keep them alive, and put a name on the line for it.
Our best month is the one where your report says "nothing happened."
The Ship & Sleep operating principle
What we believe
Responsibility is the product
Anyone can generate software in an afternoon. What can't be generated is someone who answers for it: watches it at night, rehearses its recovery, and signs a response time with consequences. That's what clients buy from us — the software is just where it lives.
Boring on purpose
Our best month is the one where your report says "nothing happened." We optimize for quiet: monitoring someone actually reads, backups that are proven restorable, patches applied before they're urgent. Drama is a sign of operational debt, and we pay debts early.
Evidence beats assertion
"It works" is a claim; a restore timing is evidence. Everything we tell a client — in reports, in verification statements, on this website — is either backed by something inspectable or clearly labeled as an estimate. The same standard applies to our marketing, which is why you won't find a testimonial wall here.
How we're organized
Small by design, senior by necessity.
The engagement lead model
Every client has one named engagement lead — the person who signed the SLA, knows the runbook, and answers the escalation. No ticket roulette, no "your case has been assigned to." The lead is accountable end to end, and the SLA credit lands on their name.
Founder-operated, and it says so
Right now, your engagement lead is the founder — the person who wrote the criteria catalog, the handbook, and this sentence. That's a deliberate stage, not a staffing gap: founding clients get maximum accountability, and the roster stays small enough to honor it. The team grows when the roster does, never the other way around.
Capacity-limited, deliberately
We cap the roster. When it's full, the intake says so and offers a waitlist instead of quietly degrading everyone's response times. Growth that breaks the SLA isn't growth — it's borrowing from every existing client.
Where we stand
Ship & Sleep operates from Konstanz, Germany, and works GDPR-native: a data processing agreement (Art. 28) is part of every operations contract, client code and data are used exclusively to operate the client's application, and this website runs without cookies or trackers.
How we work day to day is public in the Handbook; what we refuse to promise is printed on the front page. Hold us to both.
Watch us work before you trust us.
The Health Check is read-only by design: you see our judgment on your real system before we can change anything.
