What gets checked
Six areas, each examined against one question: what breaks first, and what does it cost you when it does?
01Backups & recovery
Do backups exist, do they run, and — the question almost nobody can answer — can they actually be restored? Where access permits, we test a restore rather than reading a settings page. A backup that was never restored is a rumor.
02Secrets & access
API keys in client code, credentials in repositories, service roles with more power than they need, missing key rotation. Exposed secrets are the most common critical finding in AI-built apps — and the cheapest to fix once found.
03Error handling & monitoring
What happens when a payment webhook fails, a third-party API times out, or the database rejects a write? We trace the failure paths that matter for money and data, and check whether anyone would even notice.
04Data integrity
Schema state, migrations, orphaned records, race conditions on writes. AI builders produce working happy paths; we look at what happens off them.
05Dependencies & patching
Outdated packages with known vulnerabilities, pinned versions nobody owns, frameworks past end-of-life. With severity ratings, not a wall of npm-audit noise.

Every finding in the report follows the same structure, written for a non-technical owner.

Also an acceptance check
Commissioned your app from a freelancer or an agency? The Health Check works as an independent acceptance check: you get the verdict on what was delivered before you pay the final invoice — from a party with no stake in the build.
The report gives you a defensible basis for the handover conversation: findings with evidence and severity, not feelings. In a recent engagement, three critical findings were resolved by the agency before handover because the acceptance check surfaced them while the invoice was still open.
The guarantee, precisely
If the report doesn't surface at least one material risk or defect you didn't already know about, you don't pay.
"Material" means a finding a reasonable operator would act on: missing or unrestorable backups, exposed secrets, unmonitored failure modes, unpatched vulnerable dependencies, data-loss paths. Cosmetic nitpicks don't count — we don't pad reports to hit the guarantee.
And if you adopt into Managed Operations within thirty days, the full $249 is credited against your first month. The Health Check is how we earn the operations contract, not a profit center.
